Ajah Launches Benefactor
New service to help fundraisers unlock biggest sources of funding, high net worth individuals
Michael Lenczner, founder and CEO of Ajah, announced today the launch of Benefactor, a new funder research service designed to help Canadian charities find funding from high net worth individual donors.
“We founded Ajah with the goal of helping Canadian charities raise more money, and we’re proud to have helped hundreds of fundraisers find their best corporate and foundation prospects over the last seven years,” said Lenczner. “But we realised there was more we could do to help fundraisers.”
“Major gifts and planned gifts from individuals are the largest sources of fundraising dollars for many organizations, and are typically the largest grants that an organization receives. Benefactor will help organisations find those individuals and unlock their biggest source of funding.”
Lenczner points to estimates suggesting individual donors account for up to 80% of donations to charities, and that high net worth individuals are responsible for 88% of total individual gifts, making them a charity’s most important benefactors.
Benefactor lets fundraisers tap into this rich source of new prospects, helping them identify high net worth individuals in their network and adopt and implement a comprehensive process for soliciting funds from individuals.
“Benefactor will help fundraisers at map the connections between the people they know and those they’d like to meet,” Lenczner said. “Fundraisers will discover who to ask, and how to approach them.”
Benefactor is the only database in Canada that brings together all the information available on individuals to help fundraisers find and evaluate funding prospects. It correlates and cross-references wealth indicators and other data points from a variety of sources to generate complete informative profiles of potential donors.
“We’re excited to bring our donor-centred fundraising approach and our expertise in data-driven prospect research to the world of individual giving,” Lenczner said. “Benefactor will unlock a wealth of new opportunities for Canadian fundraisers.”
